Senior HVAC Technician

We are seeking an experienced Senior HVAC Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, inspection, troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance of HVAC systems in commercial, residential, and industrial facilities. The role requires strong technical expertise, leadership skills, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of safety and service quality.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform preventive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance on HVAC systems and equipment.
• Diagnose and repair faults in air conditioning, ventilation, refrigeration, and heating systems.
• Conduct routine inspections of chillers, package units, split units, VRF/VRV systems, AHUs, FCUs, exhaust systems, and associated controls.
• Monitor system performance and recommend improvements to increase efficiency and reliability.
• Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and control system issues.
• Perform refrigerant recovery, charging, leak detection, and repairs in accordance with regulations.
• Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and operation manuals.
• Ensure all maintenance activities are completed according to safety standards and company procedures.
• Prepare maintenance reports, service records, and equipment condition assessments.
• Coordinate and supervise junior technicians and subcontractors when required.
• Respond to emergency maintenance calls and equipment failures.
• Maintain inventory of tools, spare parts, and consumables required for maintenance activities.
• Support commissioning and testing of newly installed HVAC equipment.
• Ensure compliance with local regulations, environmental requirements, and industry best practices.

Skills and Qualifications

• Diploma, Technical Certificate, or Trade Qualification in HVAC, Mechanical Engineering, Refrigeration, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on HVAC maintenance experience.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, refrigeration cycles, electrical controls, and building management systems (BMS).
• Experience maintaining chillers, cooling towers, pumps, AHUs, FCUs, package units, split units, and VRF/VRV systems.
• Ability to diagnose and resolve complex HVAC mechanical and electrical faults.
• Proficient in reading technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and equipment manuals.
• Knowledge of preventive maintenance planning and asset management practices.
• Familiarity with HVAC safety standards and refrigerant handling procedures.
• Good communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to lead and mentor junior technicians.
• Computer literacy and experience using maintenance management systems (CMMS) is an advantage.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in facilities management, commercial buildings, hospitals, hotels, malls, industrial plants, or large residential complexes.
• Hands-on experience with preventive and corrective maintenance programs.
• Experience working with BMS-controlled HVAC systems.
• Knowledge of energy efficiency initiatives and HVAC optimization techniques.
• Experience supervising maintenance teams and coordinating maintenance schedules.
