Your impact
We are looking for a Senior Hydraulic Modeler to join our team in Salt Lake City, UT. The Jacobs team is a growing water practice in the Salt Lake City market with a team of determined, high-performing individuals working with major regional clients on a vast array of projects. You will engage in project assignments serving our municipal, federal, industrial, and other clients. You will work on a wide variety of tasks both independently and with peers in the Salt Lake City, UT office and throughout the company. You will interface with our unique Market Solutions group and get facetime with other subject matter experts within Jacobs. As a Primary Subject Matter Expert in Hydraulic Modeling, you will be called upon to help support multiple projects throughout Jacobs. Key Responsibilities
Development, calibration, and interpretation of water distribution, wastewater, and stormwater models
Use models to understand system performance and help with the design of system improvements and enhancements
Evaluate, select, and apply standards of advanced engineering and modeling techniques
Use models for master planning and conceptual studies
Field work and planning for water distribution model calibration and validation, including hydrant fire flow testing, HGL testing, pressure monitoring, and flow metering
Water quality and transient modeling
Development of hydraulic profiles for water and wastewater treatment facilities, including design input and coordination for conveyance for state-of-the-art treatment plants
Non-revenue water and water loss control evaluations and studies
Engage in programming, statistical analysis, and data research
Analyzing, managing, and interpreting data using ArcGIS software
Utilize project management skills to propose, plan, execute, monitor, and close projects effectively
Perform technical writing and client presentations to convey key messages, derived from complex technical documentation, in a simple and clear manner
Participate in our global technical communities of practice in water distribution system modeling, distribution system water quality, digital twins, system optimization, collection system modeling, and wet weather management
QA/QC of models, reports, and deliverables
Prepare and deliver presentations at local and national professional organizations such as AWWA and WEF
Here's what you'll need
Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering
15+ years of professional experience
Experience and in-depth knowledge of modeling software (e.g., InfoWater Pro, Aqua Twin, InfoWorks WS Pro, WaterGEMS, HAMMER, EPANET, InfoWorks ICM, SewerGEMS, PCSWMM, Mike+, EPA SWMM)
Understanding of hydraulic systems and modeling outputs
Working knowledge of GIS tools (ArcGIS Pro)
Ability to work in a team environment and communicate effectively, both internally and externally
Active involvement in mentoring and professional development (of self and others)
Proficiency in writing and reviewing technical reports to convey key messages in a simple and clear manner
Ability to effectively communicate, verbally and in writing, with clients and geographically dispersed project staff using online platforms
Ideally, you’ll also have:
Graduate degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering
Professional Engineer (PE) license in Utah or ability to obtain via comity
Experience with Info360 Insights, Info360 Asset
Conveyance and/or pump design experience
Experience with data analytics using Power BI and programming languages such as Python (for GIS) and Visual Basic for Excel

The base salary range for this position is $123,600.00 to $216,400.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
