Senior Infrastructure Specialist

Job Summary

The Senior Infrastructure Specialist is responsible for leading, designing, and optimizing enterprise IT infrastructure environments across on-premises and cloud platforms. The role ensures infrastructure solutions are secure, scalable, resilient, and aligned with the organization’s strategic vision and technology roadmap. The incumbent will oversee complex infrastructure projects, manage vendor engagements, and provide technical leadership across virtualization, cloud, storage, backup, and data center operations.

Responsibilities

§ Experience in leading IT infrastructure for complex organizations. Design and implement IT environments aligned with strategic vision and roadmaps.

§ Expertise in preparing and defining the scope for IT infrastructure projects and managing the Request for Proposal (RFP) process, including technical and vendor evaluations

§ Expertise in VMware Virtualization, NSX, SRM, HCX, and other hypervisors.

§ Extensive experience with Microsoft Windows, Active Directory, Exchange Online, and Office 365 products.

§ Skilled in enterprise storage, backup, disaster recovery, and data center operations.

§ Proficient in converged and hyper-converged infrastructure, and software-defined data centers.

§ Experience working with Azure and Google Cloud Platform.

§ Knowledge of infrastructure security best practices and compliance standards.

§ Conduct product and vendor evaluations to ensure technology solutions are fit-for-purpose, and build and manage strategic vendor relationships.

§ Act as an escalation point for business users, handling both functional and technical deliverables.

§ Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate cloud-based and on-premises systems.

§ Monitor and optimize cloud-based systems, troubleshoot performance issues, and implement improvements.

§ Stay updated with industry trends and best practices in cloud architecture and provide recommendations for continuous improvement.

§ Provide technical guidance to team members, fostering knowledge sharing and skill development.

§ Basic understanding of IT network devices and security controls.

§ Hands-on technical expertise for overseeing complex infrastructure implementations, system upgrades, and operational troubleshooting.

§ Prepare and present monthly and quarterly service review reports to management.

§ Strong written and verbal communication skills.

§ Maintain documentation for operational, configuration, and technical procedures.

Qualifications

§ Bachelor in IT or Relevant

§ Relevance will be reviewed and confirmed by ISD in line with technical competencies of applicant.

Experience

§ 12 years’ experience in similar skill set.

§ IT Operations Management

§ Proficiency in Azure Cloud Services

§ Strong expertise in Microsoft Windows and VMware environments

§ Enterprise-level Storage Administration

§ Enterprise Backup Solutions Administration

§ Proficiency in Data Center Operations

§ Effective People Management and Leadership

§ Relevant certifications from major technology vendors, including Microsoft, VMware, and ITIL
