Senior Instructional Designer

About Us: Academian is dedicated to providing innovative educational solutions tailored to meet the needs of students and educators. We are currently seeking a skilled Senior Instructional Designer to lead instructional design initiatives for a key client in the education sector.

Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Instructional Designer (ID) with experience in designing and developing virtual labs and AR/VR educational experiences. The ideal candidate will collaborate with subject matter experts, developers, and project managers to create immersive, interactive learning solutions that enhance student engagement and understanding.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop instructional content for virtual labs and AR/VR learning environments.
• Collaborate with SMEs to convert complex scientific or technical concepts into engaging interactive experiences.
• Use instructional design models and adult learning principles to create effective learning solutions.
• Work closely with development teams to implement content on AR/VR platforms or virtual lab simulators.
• Review and iterate learning materials based on feedback and user testing.
• Ensure consistency with learning objectives, standards, and quality guidelines.
• Stay updated on emerging technologies in virtual labs, AR/VR, and interactive learning solutions.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• 5–10 years of experience in instructional design, curriculum development, or educational content creation.
• Strong experience in virtual labs, AR/VR educational projects, or interactive simulations.
• Familiarity with AR/VR platforms such as Unity, Unreal Engine, Labster, or similar.
• Knowledge of instructional design methodologies (ADDIE, SAM, etc.) and adult learning principles.
• Excellent collaboration, communication, and project management skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in STEM education or higher education content.
• Familiarity with emerging EdTech trends, gamification, and interactive multimedia learning solutions.

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour
