Training and Development Coach

This position will be based in Birmingham, Las Vegas, or one of our central Texas locations and is not a remote role.

Summary/Objective


The Training and Development Coach (T&D) is responsible for the design, planning, and execution of Legacy’s training programs, policies, and procedures, creating Legacy’s training curriculum and content, and scheduling, coordinating, and communicating training activities to the market. This role will require you to partner closely with senior executives, subject matter experts, and field teams.


The ideal candidate should have experience as a Licensed Funeral Director or Family Service Counselor, and at a minimum, must have death care industry experience in some capacity.


Essential Functions

  • Design curriculum and create content.
  • Design role-play scenarios and create both pre and post-training tests that measure performance.
  • Execute training on-site, in webinars, and through video conferences.
  • Coordinate and communicate training schedules to trainers and market leaders.
  • Create and publish a library of training content, scripts, pictures, procedures, and checklists.
  • Responsibilities include needs analysis, instructional design, and hands-on coaching to help learners put their new learning into practice.
  • Draft and execute training plans.
  • Provide regular L&D metrics to senior management.
  • Serve as a reliable point of contact for your business group in case they have follow-up questions on any T&D materials in your portfolio
  • Collaborate with the marketing and advertising team on creating e-learning templates, graphics, and multimedia deliverables.
  • Keep current with T&D best practices through ongoing training and research.


Competencies:

  • Basic knowledge of the funeral industry, merchandise, practices, and procedures is preferred.
  • Ability to create dynamic training presentations, scripts, diagrams, instructions, checklists, and illustrations. Engaging presentation style.
  • Capacity and level-headedness to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to operate and make decisions in an ambiguous business environment.
  • Capable of managing to a deadline and solving problems on the go.
  • Maintain a positive attitude, a desire to help co-workers, and a work ethic that motivates others.


Communication Skills

  • Works with other departments as needed.
  • Works productively with minimal supervision; achieves work objectives in a timely manner
  • Responds positively and productively to new initiatives or changes in priorities
  • Conveys facts and information clearly in written and spoken communications

Travel

Approximately 50% - will fluctuate based on the needs of the business.
