Aga Khan University invites applications for the position of Instructor at the School of Nursing and Midwifery.
Responsibilities:
The position will be reporting to the Director, Undergraduate Nursing Education, School of Nursing and Midwifery. Moreover, you will be responsible for:
Independently teach assigned theoretical and clinical courses in Undergraduate Nursing Education, including delivering lectures, evaluating students through assignments and examinations, and effectively applying principles of teaching and learning based on course and student needs.
Provide supervision to students during clinical teaching, facilitating the application of theoretical knowledge into practice, offering constructive, and ensuring that clinical experiences align with course objectives and uphold professional standards.
Design comprehensive course grids outlining curriculum structure, teaching-learning strategies, assessment methods, and class schedules.
Implement evaluation tools for classroom and clinical instruction in line with the School of Nursing and Aga Khan University policies, ensuring fairness, objectivity, and adherence to established performance standards.
Provide constructive feedback (summative and formative) to students based on course objectives. Encourage self-directed learning, the inquiry process, and the development of culturally relevant knowledge and practices.
Identify learning challenges (self, learners, or course-related) and recommend strategies for improvement, seeking guidance from senior faculty or supervisors when necessary.
Serving as an advisor for undergraduate students, guiding them through their academic and professional development.
Engage in research activities as a co-Investigator with senior colleagues and participate in dissemination initiatives.
Maintain confidentiality of all assessment tools and student advisement records.
Engage in program-related activities, meetings, and workshops, contributing to the continuous development and improvement of the program
Serve on committees at the School level and represent AKU-SONAM, Pakistan in university-wide committees and strategic meetings, as required.
Mentor faculty at the Instructor and Intern levels in course development and teaching.
Perform any other tasks assigned by the Associate Dean, Undergraduate Nursing Education, or her designee.
