The Senior Interior BIM Coordinator is responsible for managing, coordinating, and delivering interior design projects using Building Information Modeling (BIM) processes and tools. This role bridges the gap between the design team, project management, and technical documentation — ensuring all interior elements are accurately modeled, coordinated across disciplines, and aligned with project standards and client requirements.

Key Responsibilities:1. BIM Management & Coordination

  • Develop, implement, and manage BIM Execution Plans (BEP) for interior projects.
  • Coordinate BIM workflows between architecture, interior design, structure, and MEP disciplines.
  • Lead model coordination and clash detection sessions using Navisworks or similar tools.
  • Ensure all BIM models adhere to company and client standards.
  • Maintain model integrity, organization, and version control.

2. Interior Design Documentation

  • Translate design intent into highly detailed and accurate BIM models for interior fit-outs.
  • Manage the creation of 3D models, 2D drawings, schedules, and details for interior elements such as partitions, ceilings, joinery, finishes, furniture, and lighting layouts.
  • Support designers and architects in developing coordinated design documentation.

3. Quality Control & Standards

  • Audit and review Revit models to ensure compliance with BIM protocols.
  • Maintain BIM content libraries for interior elements (families, materials, components).
  • Ensure consistent quality and documentation standards across all project stages.

4. Collaboration & Communication

  • Liaise with architects, engineers, and contractors to resolve model-related issues.
  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior BIM modelers and interior designers.
  • Participate in coordination meetings and present BIM deliverables to clients when required.

5. Innovation & Development

  • Stay updated with industry BIM advancements, tools, and best practices.
  • Support the integration of new BIM technologies and workflows to improve project efficiency.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or related field.
  • Experience: 3-6 years of relevant experience, with at least 3 years in a BIM coordination role for interior projects.
  • Software Proficiency:
  • Revit (advanced level)
  • Navisworks (clash detection and coordination)
  • AutoCAD
  • Enscape / Lumion / Twinmotion (preferred for visualization)
  • BIM 360 / ACC Docs / Revit Worksharing tools
  • Strong understanding of construction documentation and detailing for interiors.
  • Familiarity with local and international BIM standards (e.g., ISO 19650).
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.

Key Attributes:

  • Detail-oriented and quality-driven.
  • Strong leadership and mentoring capability.
  • Collaborative and proactive communicator.
  • Passionate about technology-driven design and innovation.
