Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and creative Senior Interior Designer to join our team. As a Senior Designer, you will be responsible for designing and renovating interior spaces that are both functional and aesthetically pleasing. The ideal candidate will have a passion for interior design and a strong understanding of space planning, color theory, construction materials, lighting design & interior architecture.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with clients to understand their design preferences and create a design concept that meets their needs.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of design trends, color theory, and lighting design principles.
- Work closely with contractors and sales representatives to ensure that the design concept is executed as planned.
- Conduct site visits to ensure that the design is installed correctly and to address any issues that may arise.
- Provide design recommendations and solutions to clients.
- Ensure that all designs are completed within the agreed-upon timeframe and budget.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks and deadlines.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design or Interior Architecture from an accredited University.
- 5+ years of professional interior design experience within a firm setting.
- Proficient in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office Suite & G-Suite.
- A strong portfolio of interior design work that demonstrates your skills and creativity.
- Strong work ethic, astute attention to detail & aptitude for problem solving.
- Strong verbal, written & graphic communication skills.
- Understanding of design trends & knowledge of construction materials.
- Reliable vehicle and valid driver’s license (required for job site visits, installations, sample pickups, and meetings)
- Ability to travel locally to job sites, showrooms, and vendor locations as needed
- Preference given to candidates located in or near Central Houston due to job site visits and local travel requirements
- Willingness to assist in the warehouse as needed (organizing inventory, receiving deliveries, preparing items for installations)
- Ability to lift and carry light to moderate items (samples, packages, decor items)
- Detail-oriented, proactive, and dependable
- Professional demeanor when interacting with clients, vendors, and contractors
- Ability to work independently and take initiative, while also collaborating with a team
- Comfortable working in both office and on-site environments
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
