Senior Interior Designer

At Joe McGuire Design we are seeking a full-time Senior Interior Designer in the Denver, Boulder or Aspen area. This position is also open to someone who would initially work remotely from any part of the US, and who is open to relocating to Aspen or Boulder, Colorado sometime in the next 3 months.


We are looking for someone with 5-7 years of high-end residential experience, who wants to flourish creatively in a lead role, and who is drawn to nature, balance, and the outstanding quality of life that Colorado offers.

We are a full-service residential interior design firm with clients in Aspen, Boulder, Denver, and other parts of the US. We have been featured in regional and national press. Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of high-end residential design experience including new construction, full remodel and full FF&E packages.
  • Desire to flourish creatively in a lead role
  • Appreciation of nature, balance, and the outstanding quality of life that Colorado offers

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proficient in computer and drafting skills (see details below)

Location:

This position would be based either in our Aspen office, or our Boulder office, depending on your preference. Both offices are located within walking distance of shops, restaurants, and hiking trails. This is a flexible hybrid role offering up to 3 days per week work from home (contingent upon project and company needs). Occasional travel to Denver, Aspen or other parts of the US would be required.


Responsibilities:

  • Develop a creative vision for JMD projects
  • Collaborate on project design charrettes
  • Oversee project timelines and meet deadlines
  • Serve as the primary point of client contact
  • Lead, mentor and delegate to junior design staff
  • Follow up with consultants, vendors, and trades
  • In-depth knowledge of high end furniture sources and vendors
  • Knowledge of fabrics and custom furniture specification
  • Strong understanding of scale and proportion
  • Ability to develop
  • Sketches and drawings
  • Mood boards
  • Concept boards
  • Presentations
  • Finish selections and palettes
  • Construction schedules
  • Site visits and construction observations
  • Creating & maintaining project budgets
  • Identify & communicate scope creep
  • Coordinating with accounting for Invoice review
  • Manage furnishings installs

Education and experience:

  • Degree in Interior Design
  • 7+ years experience in high-end residential
  • Familiar with Google drive and apps
  • AutoCAD proficient
  • Mac OS proficient
  • Adobe Photoshop proficient
  • Experience with Studio Designer software is a plus
  • Working knowledge of Sketchup Pro or similar is a plus, but not mandatory

Salary Range:

$90,000+ (based on experience)
