SKETCH a. Design Studio, an award-winning and dynamic Interior Design firm, is in search

of a motivated Design Assistant to join our Residential Design Team. Our core mission

revolves around crafting exceptional interior spaces tailored to our clients' preferences and

needs. With a specialization in custom cabinetry and millwork design and installation, we

have a proven record of transforming houses into uniquely functional and visually

captivating homes.

We are actively seeking an experienced and skilled Interior Designer with a background

spanning 5-7 years to become a valuable addition to our team. Reporting to the Principal

and Director of Design, the Designer will take charge of every facet of the design journey –

from initial schematic design to comprehensive construction documentation, while also

overseeing construction management and execution. The ideal candidate should boast a

profound mastery of industry-standard drafting and rendering software and possess a

minimum of 5 years' experience in residential interior design, preferably within the luxury

residential sector.

*Preference will be given to candidates holding an NCIDQ certification.*

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Collaborate closely with Principal Designer & Director of Design to generate innovative design concepts. Communicate effectively within the design team across multiple projects.

Conduct thorough research and analysis of client goals and project requirements, forming a precise client programming model.

Produce top-tier design deliverables, including photorealistic 3D renderings of interior design concepts and comprehensive construction documents. These documents encompass plans, elevations, details, reflected ceiling plans, lighting and power plans, as well as product specifications and finish schedules.

Skillfully select products, colors, materials, and finishes to translate the design concept effectively.

Document all selections in preparation for subsequent design phases.

Manage concurrent projects, ensuring punctual completion and adherence to design deadlines.

Work on projects spanning various scales, from individual items to full residential developments.

Demonstrate excellence in image composition, styling proficiency, and photographic acumen in the study of lighting.

Display a high standard of graphic sensibility in all design work.

SKILLS & ACCOLADES

Bachelor’s degree in architecture, Interior Design, 3D Modeling, Virtual Animation, or related field.

Associate's degree or equivalent technical degree/certificate from an accredited designer/drafter course also accepted.

Advanced proficiency in 2D and 3D software such as AutoCAD, Revit, Chief Architect, 3D.s Max, Vray, Corona, Maya, and/or Lumion (no SketchUp).

Ability to perform field measurements and document existing conditions.

Knowledge and ability to draft a complete set of construction documents with precision.

Familiarity with trade resources, fabricators, and vendors.

Proficiency in time-keeping and billing software or willingness to learn.
