Sr. Interior Designer

The Senior Interior Designer / Project Manager works closely with the Principal and is responsible for all aspects of interior design and project management, including establishing and monitoring the project budgets and schedules, managing client and contractor communication, guiding project teams, and monitoring fees. The ideal candidate has a strong track record of managing all phases of projects, coordinating project teams, and overseeing project performance. Strong organization, collaboration and communication skills are a must.

This is a full-time position.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead design development efforts. Develop design concepts and details from schematic design phases through construction oversight phases
  • Project management as it relates to all phases of high-end design from initial concept planning through project completion
  • Develop, update and monitor project timelines, construction schedules and deliverables
  • Keep all parties informed of significant details and events. Maintain continual communication with Principal and project team regarding project and client details. Manage all client engagement and correspondence
  • Manage, track and update project budgets and reports, and complete projects within budget and on schedule
  • Develop, review and redline construction documents. Review shop drawings
  • Prepare and maintain all interior design plan documents such as finish schedules, specifications, templates, schedules
  • Manage day-to-day workload of Jr. Designer. Review monthly time billing
  • Oversee preparation of furniture proposals and proposal design packages for submission to clients

Required Qualifications

  • 4+ years experience in interior design or architecture or 4+ years experience in commercial design with an interest in residential design
  • 3+ years experience in Project Management
  • Degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture or Architecture
  • Proficient in SketchUp, ACAD, Photoshop, In-Design, Adobe Creative Suite and other design programs
  • Exceptional organizational skills to manage multiple competing priorities simultaneously, without losing sight of key goals
  • Ability to drive teams/decisions through ambiguity
  • Professional and persuasive communicator who is comfortable communicating with clients, contractors and vendors
  • Meticulous attention to detail, highly organized and the ability to multi-task effectively while remaining accurate and consistent in all paperwork and data management
  • Demonstrated ability to determine relevance and prioritize tasks
  • Pro-active, positive “can do” attitude with eagerness to grow professionally and work within a small team
  • Passion for thoughtful design
  • Knowledge of Studio IT or Studio Designer Software a plus

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $95,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
