Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Internal Auditor with proven expertise in the contracting and construction industry in the UAE. The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading audit assignments, ensuring compliance with internal controls, assessing risks, and providing recommendations to enhance operational efficiency and financial integrity. This role requires a strong understanding of UAE regulations, contracting business processes, and industry best practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, lead, and execute internal audit engagements across various departments, projects, and functions within the contracting business.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls, financial reporting, and operational processes to ensure compliance with company policies and UAE regulatory requirements.
• Identify risks, weaknesses, and areas of improvement, and provide practical recommendations for corrective actions.
• Review and analyze project cost controls, subcontractor payments, procurement processes, payroll, and contract management to ensure accuracy and transparency.
• Prepare clear and comprehensive audit reports with findings and recommendations for senior management.
• Monitor the implementation of audit recommendations and follow up on corrective action plans.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior auditors, ensuring adherence to professional auditing standards.
• Collaborate with management to strengthen risk management and governance frameworks.
• Stay updated on local laws, VAT, IFRS standards, and industry-specific compliance requirements.

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master’s degree is a plus).
• Professional certification such as CIA, CPA, ACCA, or CA preferred.
• Minimum 5+ years of proven internal audit experience in a UAE-based contracting or construction company.
• Strong knowledge of construction project accounting, cost control, procurement, and compliance frameworks.
• Solid understanding of UAE labor laws, VAT, and financial regulations.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
• Strong communication and report-writing abilities in English (Arabic is a plus).
• Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP) and MS Office tools.
• High level of integrity, independence, and attention to detail.
