Senior Investment Analyst (PSX Portfolio)

Job Purpose

The Senior Investment Analyst (PSX Portfolio) is the cornerstone of our local investment strategy. This role exists to transform raw market data into high conviction investment theses that drive alpha generation within the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX). As a bridge between market volatility and strategic stability, you will be responsible for uncovering intrinsic value where others see noise. This is a high impact position designed for a sharp analytical mind capable of influencing multi million dollar capital allocations and shaping the firm’s long term footprint in the Pakistani capital markets.

Key Responsibilities

• Fundamental Research: Execute deep dive bottom up fundamental analysis on PSX listed equities, focusing on competitive moats, management quality, and cash flow sustainability.
• Financial Modeling: Build, maintain, and stress test complex three statement financial models and valuation frameworks (DCF, Sum of the Parts, and Relative Valuation).
• Investment Thesis Generation: Formulate and present clear, data backed "Buy/Hold/Sell" recommendations to the Investment Committee and CIO.
• Sector Coverage: Maintain expert level coverage of key PSX sectors (e.g., Banking, E&P, Fertilizers, and Technology), identifying secular trends and cyclical inflection points.
• Portfolio Construction: Assist the CIO in constructing and rebalancing portfolios to optimize the risk return profile in alignment with the firm's mandate.
• Active Monitoring: Track quarterly earnings, regulatory shifts, and macro economic indicators (CPI, Interest Rates, CAD) to assess their real time impact on portfolio holdings.
• Corporate Access: Lead engagements with C suite executives of listed companies and participate in analyst briefings to gain proprietary qualitative insights.
• Risk Management: Conduct rigorous sensitivity analysis and tail risk assessments to protect capital during periods of heightened market volatility.
• Alternative Instruments: Evaluate PSX listed Mutual Funds, ETFs, and fixed income instruments for strategic tactical allocation.
• Reporting: Prepare high quality quarterly investment memos and performance attribution reports for both local leadership and the Japanese headquarters.
