Senior IT Developer

As Senior Systems Developer you will lead and manage the development of Transport IT solutions, working closely with end-users, business owners, and product teams to understand requirements, resolve system issues, and ensure that applications meet business needs. You will also take on a leadership role in guiding other developers, supporting existing systems, and delivering new software solutions.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate directly with end-users and business owners to collect and understand new system requirements. Translate these needs into technical specifications.
• Design, develop, and implement new software solutions or enhancements to existing systems to improve functionality and efficiency.
• Investigate and resolve issues with current systems, ensuring continuous support and system reliability.
• Plan and execute comprehensive testing of new releases and system updates to ensure stability, performance, and quality.
• Develop project plans and manage timelines for system releases, working with stakeholders to meet deadlines.
• Prepare training manuals and documentation for end-users to ensure smooth adoption and usage of the system.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to other developers, guiding them through complex challenges and fostering best practices in system design and development.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in systems/application development, with a focus on large-scale, enterprise-level applications.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex systems issues.
• Excellent communication skills to interact with non-technical users and stakeholders, translating business needs into technical solutions.
• Experience with software testing, debugging, and deployment processes.
• Familiarity with project management methodologies, particularly Agile or similar frameworks.
• Knowledge in the transport or logistics industry is a plus.
• Proficient in relevant programming languages and development tools.
