Guardians of Honor is a small management consulting firm supporting the federal government since 1997 (www.gohnow.com).

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior IT Specialist to assist in managing IT operations for GOH.

This role will assist with the development, maintenance, and implementation of IT solutions for the company; to include analysis of IT systems and strategies for optimization, management of network, software updates, hardware maintenance, and security processes. The IT Specialist provides technical assistance to staff and serves as the liaison to the company cloud communications partners, software and hardware suppliers, and IT security/cybersecurity resources.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate network and systems for performance and security.
  • Lead annual IT security training for staff.
  • Advice on new IT methods and infrastructure improvements
  • Provide technical assistance and training for staff.
  • Resolve general software and cybersecurity issues.
  • Supervise junior IT Specialist and technical staff.
  • Lead SharePoint implementation and optimization.
  • Develop and maintain IT policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate IT strategy with executive leadership.
  • Prepare for and lead external cybersecurity audits.
  • Oversee business continuity and disaster recovery planning.
  • Lead IT projects including upgrades and migrations.
  • Manage vendor relationships and service contracts.
  • Ensure use of FedRAMP-compliant cloud services and CMMC controls.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in IT management or senior IT roles.
  • Proven experience with Microsoft SharePoint implementation and administration.
  • Strong understanding of GovCon IT compliance frameworks.
  • Experience with Microsoft 365, Azure, and cybersecurity tools.
  • Certifications such as Security+, CISSP, Microsoft Certified: SharePoint Administrator, or Azure Administrator are a plus.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with FedRAMP-authorized cloud services.
  • Familiarity with DoD and Federal contract IT requirements.
  • Knowledge of ITIL or similar service management frameworks.
  • SharePoint Administration knowledge.


Work Environment:
The work environment is a typical office, remote setting.

Physical demands: The physical demands of the job include sitting for extended periods, and occasional walking and standing.

Position type and expected hours of work: This is a part-time non-exempt position. Typical work hours are Monday-Friday, up to 30 hours per week. Some job activities may be required outside of typical workdays/hours. Overtime is expected during peak periods.

Travel: 10% local and regional travel, with overnight stays necessary

Required education and experience: Bachelor’s degree required

Additional eligibility qualifications: A minimum of 5 years of industry-specific experience required
