As a senior learning experience designer, you will collaborate with SCAD academic leaders, faculty, staff, and subject matter experts to develop engaging learning experiences across all university locations. You will create instructional technology resources and interactive media for various projects and educational materials, as well as curate academic content built on an ethos of engaged teaching and learning through media production, including capturing high-quality audio on set at video recordings and during post-production. You will manage media assets locally and on cloud-based system, archive and back up all projects and related media, and maintain an accurate inventory of all video, lighting, grip, audio, and dubbing equipment.

In this role, you will support faculty professional growth and student involvement through live or recorded events, workshops, training sessions, and coaching. You will oversee system updates and improvements, provide online and on-site training and technical assistance, and develop strategies to ensure continuous faculty and student engagement. Other responsibilities include suggesting improvements for current educational technologies, such as LMS optimization, and researching new tools to enhance digital learning experiences. Additionally, you will lead outreach efforts for educational technology and academic engagement opportunities.

The ideal candidate demonstrates skills in video production, nonlinear editing, color correction, lighting, and audio. They also exhibit excellent project management, communication, and collaboration skills, with the ability to solve problems and troubleshoot quickly. The candidate must be comfortable working as an independent contributor to achieve measurable results and operating production equipment. They should possess the technical knowledge necessary to manage extensive equipment inventories and research upgrades. Experience with media management and design teams, professional production crews, and set oversight is essential.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Master's degree in technology, education, or a related discipline OR equivalent professional experience
  • At least three years of professional experience in AV production
  • Proficient in lighting and camera techniques and postproduction systems (e.g., Avid Media Composer, Pro Tools, Adobe Premier/After Effects, or Final Cut)
  • Ability to lift, transport, and set up large film production equipment
  • Ability to work outside office hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed

  • Valid driver’s license

Travel required:

  • Less than 10%

Work hours: The university work week is Sunday through Saturday. Most offices are open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. To accommodate business needs, employees may be assigned to other workdays and/or hours, including weekends and evenings.
