Role Description

Department

The Department of Computer Science at the University of York has been a centre of excellence in teaching and research for over fifty years. We are a top 10 UK computer science department and a top 10 university (as ranked by the Times Higher) in the most recent national HE research assessment exercise (REF 2021). Also, the University of York has a Gold TEF teaching award. As such, we are one of only four universities in the UK that have both top 10 REF and gold TEF.

Role

The postholder will be working in the field of Artificial Intelligence and have proven experience in LLM-based research. The postholder will have the opportunity to produce new research approaches and use research methodologies appropriate to this field of research. The postholder will have the opportunity to lead on research projects and you will be supported by our research teams. The postholder will be leading the design, development and delivery of a range of modules, including supervising undergraduate and postgraduate students and research staff in the area of Artificial Intelligence and Data Analysis.

Skills, Experience & Qualification Needed

  • PhD in Computer Science or equivalent experience
  • Appropriate academic professional and teaching qualifications or a willingness to complete the Postgraduate Certificate in Academic Practice
  • Well-established national reputation in Artificial Intelligence with a proven track record in LLM-based research
  • Specific knowledge of Artificial Intelligence and Data Analysis
