Role Overview
As a Senior Legal Associate, you will play a key role in managing and supporting legal operations
across Juspay products and its global entities. You will be responsible for drafting and negotiating commercial contracts and ensuring data protection compliance. This role offers hands-on exposure to the legal challenges of operating a fast-scaling fintech company across multiple jurisdictions.
Key Responsibilities
1. Commercial Contracts
• Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of contracts, including SaaS contracts, partnerships and technology service agreements
• Provide risk-based, business-enabling legal advice to stakeholders
• Maintain a centralized contract repository and track contract lifecycle and obligations
2. Regulatory & Compliance (India + International)
• Monitor developments in the fintech and payments space and assist with compliance frameworks• Coordinate with external stakeholders on audit queries.
3. Global Legal & Corporate Governance
• Support legal documentation and compliance for subsidiaries in Singapore, Ireland, Brazil, and the US
• Handle cross-border transactions and documentation
4. Data Protection & Privacy
• Support implementation of data protection policies (GDPR, DPDP Act, CCPA, etc.)
• Conduct privacy risk assessments and support data transfer reviews and agreements
• Ensure privacy-by-design principles are adopted across internal processes
5. Internal Legal Support & Research
• Conduct legal research and prepare guidance notes
• Liaise with cross-functional teams
Qualifications
• 2–4 years of experience in a reputed law firm or in-house legal team (fintech/tech preferred)
• Sound knowledge of contract law, fintech regulations, and data protection laws
• Strong drafting, communication, and organizational skills
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and thrive in a high-growth environment
