Summary:

At Epic, we understand the importance of operating within the law while carrying out our vision. We seek an in-house counsel with extensive experience practicing law, preferably in a business environment. The incumbent will be providing strategic legal advice and guidance to the company, overseeing legal risks, and ensuring compliance with laws and regulations. The job title will be dependent on the candidate’s qualifications

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Strategic partner and influential contributor to the executive team.
• Oversee all legal matters – strategic and operational – and advise the CEO, the senior management team, global headquarters and the Board accordingly.
• Ensure company compliance with applicable securities laws and regulations.
• Participate in the definition and development, as needed, of corporate policies, procedures and programs.
• Provides counsel and oversight for all litigation, selecting and supervising outside counsel, judging the merits of major litigation, and approving settlements of disputes if warranted.
• Act as a resource on the interpretation of existing or proposed laws and regulations that could impact the company.
• Draft, review, and negotiate contracts with clients, vendors, and other third parties.
• Act as a key player in crisis management, providing legal guidance to protect the organization’s interests.

Must have Skills and Competencies:

• Bilingual English/Chinese is a big plus!
• Comprehensive knowledge of the laws, such as corporate, labor, anti-trust.
• Exceptional judgment for weighing inputs and evaluating potential courses of action.
• First-rate leadership skills.
• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
• Strategic acumen and excellent problem-solving capabilities.
• Advanced law degree, such as a Juris Doctor degree or equivalent, plus 5 to 7 years experience.
