About the Role : ACWA Power is seeking a highly skilled Senior Manager – Legal (Projects) to join our team in the UAE. This role will focus on providing legal support for complex project development and cross-border M&A transactions, particularly across North and West Africa. The successful candidate will work closely with the VP – Legal (Projects), acquisitions & divestitures teams, and external legal advisors to manage risk, draft agreements, and ensure compliance with all relevant laws.



Responsibilities :



  • Draft, review, and negotiate SPAs, shareholders’ agreements, joint development agreements, and other corporate/project documents.
  • Lead legal due diligence exercises across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Collaborate with business development, finance, technical, and acquisitions teams on legal structuring and risk assessment.
  • Manage relationships with external counsel and support negotiations with key stakeholders.
  • Monitor compliance with local and international regulations for power and water projects.
  • Mentor junior legal team members on project matters.


Qualifications :



  • Qualified in both a common law jurisdiction (e.g., UK, US, Canada) and a civil law jurisdiction (e.g., France, Morocco, Tunisia, Egypt).
  • 2–4 years post-qualification experience at a top-tier international law firm or in-house legal team.
  • Exposure to energy, utilities, project development, and M&A transactions.
  • Experience in cross-border M&A and project development in emerging markets, preferably Africa.
  • Full professional fluency in English and French.
  • Strong drafting, analytical, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple workstreams in a fast-paced, multicultural environment.
