Job Description and Duties
SENIOR MAINTENANCE AIDE (SEASONAL) – SANTA CRUZ DISTRICT / HENRY COWELL REDWOODS STATE PARK / DISTRICT FACILITIES PROGRAMS
“Priority consideration will be given to any person receiving State public assistance under the CalWORKs program. Applicants who receive State public assistance need to identify their status as a CalWORKs recipient in the comments area on the application. Applicants must submit a verification of their CalWORKs eligibility status, which may include the most recent Notice of Action showing TANF eligibility or a copy of your last aid check stub. If verification is not submitted with the application, the application will not be processed. (Applicants may obtain verification from the CalWORKs program)."
The reporting location for this position is the Tech Services office at Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park in Felton. This position will work under the direction of the Park Maintenance Chief III.
Join the Santa Cruz Mountains Sector team in the Santa Cruz District. This position functions as Maintenance support for the Tech Services Team. This position assists with the maintenance of the grounds and facilities at water and wastewater treatment plants. Assists with potable water distribution system repairs. Good mechanical skills, self-motivation and grounds keeping experience are highly desirable.
The incumbent’s work schedule will be Monday through Friday from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm.
This position may work up to 1500 hours within 12 consecutive months. This position is designated as not telework eligible.
The selected candidate is required to submit to a background investigation process utilizing Live Scan fingerprinting prior to appointment.
Possession of a valid driver’s license of the appropriate class and a safe driving record as documented by the Department of Motor Vehicles within 60 days prior to appointment. (A safe driving record is one free from convictions in the past two years for repeated moving violations or a single serious violation, such as drunk driving or reckless driving.)

Working Conditions
Typical work activities may involve frequent and prolonged periods of standing and walking. May have moderate exposure to dirt, dust, fumes, unpleasant odors and/or loud noises.
Must be willing to work weekends, holidays and conform to grooming and uniform standards.
Typical working hours are from 7am-3:30pm and require weekend or holiday coverage depending on program needs and conform to grooming and uniform standards.
May require heavy physical work including lifting, pushing or pulling.
