Job Purpose

Lead the design, development, and implementation of business applications that support SOPC’s operational and strategic objectives. The Senior Manager ensures that all applications are scalable, secure, and aligned with business needs, IT standards, and the SOPC Digital Strategy. This role manages internal and external development teams, drives innovation, and oversees the lifecycle of all application solutions across the organization, with a focus on leveraging core enterprise platforms such as ServiceNow and SAP.

Job Specific Accountabilities

Application Development & Delivery

  • Oversee the design, coding, testing, deployment, and maintenance of applications that support core business processes.
  • Manage the software development lifecycle (SDLC), ensuring adherence to agile or hybrid methodologies.
  • Guarantee that applications are developed to meet business needs, security requirements, and scalability standards.
  • Systems Integration
  • Ensure seamless integration between applications and enterprise platforms such as ERP, HR, and Finance systems.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure and data teams to maintain interoperability and system performance.

Project & Vendor Management

  • Manage internal and outsourced application development projects, ensuring on-time and on-budget delivery.
  • Oversee vendor relationships and monitor contract compliance and service-level agreements (SLAs).

Innovation & Continuous Improvement

  • Identify and implement emerging technologies and frameworks that improve efficiency and performance.
  • Lead modernization initiatives to migrate legacy systems to cloud or microservices architectures.
  • Promote automation and digital enablement within application processes.

Performance Management & Reporting

  • Establish and monitor KPIs for application performance, reliability, and user satisfaction.
  • Provide regular reports to IT leadership on project progress, risks, and improvement opportunities.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with other Digital Transformation and business units to ensure alignment, integration, and delivery of end-to-end digital solutions.

Continuous Learning

  • Stay updated with emerging technologies, industry trends, and regulatory changes relevant to application development, ServiceNow, SAP, and the broader digital ecosystem.
