Senior Manager / Deputy General Manager – RTDS & Power System Simulation (CEST)

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Strategy

Establish and lead the RTDS-based Centre of Excellence for Simulation & Testing (CEST) in Riyadh

Partner with the Power System Innovation leadership to define and execute business strategy, roadmap, and growth plans

Act as a technical and business leader for RTDS, HIL, and advanced power system studies

Technical Delivery

Oversee execution of power system simulation and testing projects, including:

Steady-state, dynamic, and transient studies

Protection coordination and interconnection studies

Real-time simulation and HIL/CHIL testing

Ensure on-time, high-quality delivery, compliance, and client satisfaction

Provide expert technical guidance on model development, validation, and optimization

Business Development & Growth

Develop and expand simulation and testing services for utilities, OEMs, and industry partners

Identify and convert new business opportunities in RTDS, grid modernization, and DER integration

Own P&L responsibilities for the services portfolio

Collaboration & Communication

Engage with senior stakeholders, customers, and partners to communicate findings, recommendations, and project outcomes

Collaborate with global teams across Middle East, India, and the USA

Support internal process development, tools, and best practices

People & Capability Building

Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing team of power system simulation experts

Develop in-house expertise in real-time simulators and advanced modelling tools

Required Qualifications & Experience

Masters degree in Electrical Engineering

15+ years of experience in power system modelling and simulation (T&D systems)

Deep expertise in real-time digital simulators (RTDS preferred) and their hardware architecture

Proven experience conducting interconnection and grid studies:

Steady-state, dynamic, small-signal stability, protection coordination

Hands-on experience with tools such as:

PSSE, PSCAD, RSCAD, Dig SILENT Power Factory, CYME, MATLAB/Simulink

Programming experience: Python, C++, MATLAB (or similar)

Demonstrated success in business development and P&L management

Experience leading globally distributed projects and teams

Desired / Preferred Experience

Strong experience with HIL / CHIL modelling and hardwaresoftware integration

Knowledge of DER integration, grid codes, and regulatory frameworks (KSA, UAE, USA)

Prior experience building RTDS-centric consulting or testing services

Direct experience working with utilities and OEM partners

Ability to analyse real-time model behaviour, debug simulations, and provide expert insights

Experience supporting multiple PT&D business units to expand digital services
