Job Purpose:
The Senior Manager – Environmental Social & Governance (ESG) supports the development, implementation, and continuous enhancement of the Bank’s Environmental, Social, and Governance framework. He/ She embeds ESG principles into risk management, strategy, regulatory reporting, and sustainable finance initiatives to strengthen resilience and long-term value creation.
The Senior Manager – ESG ensures alignment with Central Bank of Oman requirements and international ESG standards while supporting sustainable growth and regulatory compliance.
Key Accountabilities:

Supports execution of the Bank’s ESG strategy, roadmap, and sustainability objectives.

Develops, reviews, and maintains ESG policies, frameworks, and governance structures.

Translates ESG strategic priorities into measurable initiatives, targets, and implementation plans.

Embeds ESG and climate risk considerations into credit assessment, underwriting, and portfolio monitoring processes.

Supports climate scenario analysis, stress testing, and transition risk assessments.

Develops ESG risk assessment methodologies, sector heatmaps, and ESG scorecards.

Collaborates with Risk and Credit teams to strengthen ESG due diligence and risk integration.

Supports preparation of ESG disclosures, regulatory submissions, and supervisory responses.

Contributes to the Bank’s annual ESG and Sustainability Report in line with applicable standards.

Monitors ESG-related regulatory and industry developments and supports implementation actions.

Ensures accuracy, consistency, and audit readiness of ESG data, metrics, and disclosures.

Supports structuring, review, and monitoring of sustainable finance products and transactions.

Tracks sustainable finance portfolio performance, KPIs, and impact metrics.

Supports taxonomy alignment and impact measurement frameworks.

Oversees ESG data collection, validation, and governance processes across the Bank.

Develops management dashboards and Board-level ESG reporting materials.

Coordinates ESG data integration with Finance, Risk, and reporting systems.

Supports engagement with regulators and relevant external stakeholders.

Contributes to internal ESG awareness, training, and capacity-building initiatives.

Participates in industry working groups, forums, and sustainability initiatives.
Qualifications and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Sustainability Studies, Environmental Science, or a related discipline.

A professional certification in Sustainable Investing, Sustainable Finance, ESG, or Sustainability Data Management (e.g., GRI, FSA, GARP, EFFAS, or an Executive Certification in Sustainable Finance) is desired.

Minimum of 7 years of experience in banking, risk management, sustainability, or regulatory reporting roles, with hands‑on ESG experience.

Strong understanding of ESG frameworks, climate risk management, and sustainable finance practices.

Experience in ESG reporting, portfolio analytics, and climate stress testing is preferred.
