We are seeking an experienced and driven individual to join the Fund Operations team as a Senior Manager in a data-focused, cross-functional capacity. This role is ideal for someone with a strong understanding of finance—particularly within asset management—and proven experience leading data and reporting initiatives that intersect with fund accounting. The ideal candidate will be ready to independently lead projects, speak directly with stakeholders, document business requirements, and mentor junior team members.
The Senior Manager will report to the Vice President of Fund Operations, based in Oaktree’s Los Angeles, U.S. office. As such, the role requires consistent collaboration across time zones, clear communication, and a proactive leadership style. In addition to taking ownership of major initiatives, the Senior Manager will oversee and support analysts on the team, ensuring alignment and excellence in deliverables.
1. Report Automation and Analytics Leadership
Translate complex business requirements into scalable automation and reporting solutions using tools such as VBA, Office Script, Python, and DAX/Power Query.
2. Project Ownership and Stakeholder Engagement
Independently lead projects from inception to execution, including stakeholder communication, requirement gathering, documentation, and delivery.
3. Process Improvement and Team Oversight
7 – 9 years of experience in data transformation, report automation, data & analytics, business intelligence, and/or data visualization.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, lead cross-functional discussions, and represent the team in stakeholder meetings.
Expert-level proficiency in SQL and Power BI (including both Desktop and Report Builder), with a track record of designing, building, and optimizing complex data models, reporting suites, and automated workflows used across business units.
Advanced experience with Python, PowerShell, and DAX/Power Query, with the ability to architect and deploy integrated data solutions, streamline multi-system processes, and implement robust, scalable logic for enterprise reporting and automation needs.
In-depth understanding of data architecture, accounting workflows, and system interoperability, with demonstrated ability to design and implement solutions that align accounting logic with underlying data structures across enterprise platforms (e.g., data warehouses, general ledger systems, and reporting tools).
