Senior Manager HSE

Job Purpose

To manage and supervise all HSE activities and staff to ensure all operational activities across the Organization are carried in compliance with applicable legislation and NFL’s standards of health and safety

Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities

  • Lead the HSE function across the organization and ensure compliance.
  • Ensuring health and safety standards are maintained consistently across the organization.
  • Lead and coordinate with functional heads to inculcate the Safety mindset and culture proactively.
  • Guide and oversee the HSE teams for plant, delegating responsibilities and ensuring sector-specific compliance
  • Coordinate with authorities and regulatory bodies, ensuring licensing and certification requirements are fulfilled on time
  • Establish and monitor HSE leading and Lagging KPIs and ESG compliance KPIs, ensuring these align with NFL’s strategic goals and help identify areas of continuous improvement through data-driven decisions
  • Oversee risk assessments, Incident / Accident investigations and compile detailed reports, and recommend necessary improvements / corrective actions to meet or exceed HSE standards to the organization leadership
  • Develop and maintain an emergency response plan that is tailored to potential risks at manufacturing plants and rest of the organization, ensuring the organizations teams are trained and drills are conducted periodically
  • Oversee and ensure the provision and maintenance of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), health and safety equipment, uniforms, ensuring they meet requisite standards
  • Conduct regular visits to review adherence to standardised processes throughout across the locations.
  • Investigate any health and safety incidents reported, ensuring a resolution plan is formed and implemented for future prevention of similar incidents
  • Foster open lines of communication between the HSE function and the organization, ensuring coordinated efforts in achieving safety and quality goals
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of all HSE activities, ensuring compliance for internal and external audits
  • Utilise feedback from staff, data analytics, and industry trends to drive continuous improvement initiatives within the HSE function
  • Keep updated on the latest developments in HSE standards to ensure NFL adopts best practices consistently
  • Act as the HSE authority, advising the leadership team on HSE risks, trends, and mitigation strategies
  • Drive a proactive safety culture by embedding HSE ownership across line management through training, awareness, and leadership engagement
  • Lead contractor and vendor HSE governance, ensuring compliance across third-party operations within manufacturing sites
  • Support business continuity by integrating HSE risk management into operational planning and change initiatives
  • Periodic communication and update of HSE Performance to Mancom and Senior leadership for HSE and ESG compliance adherence.

Minimum Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree (Engineering) in relevant discipline with 10-12 years of experience

PROFESSIONAL KNOWLEDGE, CERTIFICATION OR MEMBERSHIPs

  • NEBOSH IGC / NEBOSH Diploma (preferred)
  • IOSH / OSHA certification
  • ISO 45001 (OHSMS) Lead Auditor
  • ISO 14001 (EMS) knowledge or certification
  • Knowledge of local HSE legislation and laws
