About the role:
Responsible to drive solutions, collaboration, delivery, and innovation in the operationally critical areas of Hamad International Airport. The scope of the role includes delivery of business technology initiatives, business partnering and relationship management, technology strategy and roadmap, and next generation “smart operations” solutions within MATAR Operations (Airport Operations Control Center, scheduling and planning, terminal operations, baggage handling systems, and airside operations) and Facilities Management.
Key responsibilities
Build a new “operations transformation” organization centered on collaboration, business engagement, and innovation.
Champion and lead the technology strategy within the allocated business units, in collaboration with the internal and external stakeholders.
Align technology initiatives with business objectives and strategy to drive innovation, efficiency, and competitive advantage.
Be seen as a thought-leader and strong proponent of innovation (focusing on enablement with AI) in the allocated business units.
Lead the end-to-end delivery of technology solutions and capabilities according to the roadmap and ensure that they meet business expectations.
Lead and manage business and IT leaders to evaluate supplier proposals, build business cases, plan new joint initiatives, and determine how they fit into business technology investment roadmap and priorities to meet QR Group objectives.
Foster innovation to encourage adoption of emerging/leading edge technology-based solutions that can have transformational impact on the business.
Take full responsibility for managing execution of contracts with suppliers engaged for specific requirements while ensuring agreed service levels and other contractual obligations are met.
Define and manage the annual and rolling business technology investment budgets and ensure approved budgets (CAPEX and OPEX) are utilized as planned.
Lead the end-to-end delivery of technology solutions and capabilities according to the roadmap and ensure that they meet business expectations.
Lead and manage business and IT leaders to evaluate supplier proposals, build business cases, plan new joint initiatives, and determine how they fit into business technology investment roadmap and priorities to meet QR Group objectives.

Act as the principal technology advisor to business units and a champion for identifying, leading and diving technology-enabled transformation. Partner with the business to embed a business relationship model that will deliver tangible outcomes.
Develop Business Relationship Management professional maturity and develop deep knowledge of the business domain to drive business outcomes and technology goals.
Advocate for and advance business partners' knowledge of IT processes, frameworks, roles, and capabilities to ensure IT compliance and governance is followed to reduce risk.
Lead efforts to continuously review the technology landscape of the assigned business unit to identify opportunities, prioritize and drive platform unity and KPI improvements.
Perform other department duties related to his / her position as directed by the Head of the Department.
About you:
Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent with Minimum 10 years of job- related experience.
At least 10 years in business technology enablement focused roles within the aviation industry (Airport Operations experience strongly preferred).
Significant experience in aviation solution deployments (e.g. AODB, BHS).
Practical knowledge and experience of business relationship management frameworks and business partnering models with pragmatic ability to engage and deliver results.
