The Senior Manager - Market Share Measurement & Analytics, will lead the transformation of Best Buy’s market measurement function into a robust industry analytics capability that delivers clear tracking, sharp performance diagnostics, and actionable insights to empower executive and functional leaders. You will manage the design and build of a model-driven market share measurement solution from the ground up - spanning data acquisition, engineering, advanced modeling, and visualization - while integrating diverse data sources across time, category, brand, and customer dimensions within a secure cleanroom environment. Leveraging advanced analytics and coding expertise in partnership with data science teams, you will explore and vet external data sources, maintain and enhance internal models, and ensure rigorous quality control. Additionally, you will develop clear, actionable market position reporting for executive audiences and connect complex internal and external datasets to deliver insights that strengthen category strategies and fuel growth.

This role is hybrid, which means you will work some days at our corporate office in Richfield, Minnesota, and some days virtually from home or another non-Best Buy location. The specific work arrangements vary by role and team. The recruiter or hiring manager will provide more details during the hiring process.

What you'll do
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal clients across merchandising, finance, marketing, and executive leadership.
  • Identify and clearly articulate key business use cases and align with most impactful portfolio of (insights, model, data, etc),
  • Navigate a large, matrixed organization to drive alignment and influence decision-making.
  • Oversee portfolio of external industry data sources, including maintaining ongoing relationships with vendor representatives and managing contract negotiations and renewals in partnership with procurement.
  • Continually monitor external data landscape for new alternative data sources.
  • Leverage technical expertise and partner with Data Engineering and Data Science teams and to oversee data integrity and accurate data flow. Identify gaps, inconsistencies, and opportunities in external datasets and develop methodologies to reconcile them.
  • Explore and manage data monetization agreements and opportunities.
Basic qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Statistics, Data Science, or related field.
  • 7 or more years of experience in analytics, market research, or competitive intelligence.
  • 5 or more years of experience applying analytical techniques to answer business questions.
  • 2 or more years of experience leveraging data science and data visualization tools, such as SQL, Tableau/PowerBI, SAS, R and/or Python
  • 2 or more years of experience applying statistical and machine learning techniques to improve accuracy and predictive power of market share estimates.
  • 2 or more years of experience managing teams and delivering results in a fast-paced corporate environment.
Preferred qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Business, Economics, Statistics, Data Science, or related field.
  • 1 or more years of experience influencing and presenting to executives
  • Work and code within a clean room environment to enhance and maintain market share measurement models.
  • Experience working with syndicated data
