Responsibilities

Strategic Mechanical Operations Management: Lead the mechanical department to ensure smooth, efficient, and safe operation of power generation equipment and auxiliary systems, aligning with organizational goals and statutory compliance.

Maintenance and Reliability Engineering: Oversee preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance strategies to maximize plant availability and optimize equipment life cycle. Implement reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) and root cause analysis (RCA) methodologies to minimize downtime and operational risks.

Project Planning and Execution: Spearhead mechanical engineering projects including installation, commissioning, and upgrades of machinery and equipment. Manage end-to-end execution ensuring adherence to quality, safety, timelines, and budget.

Team Leadership and Development: Mentor and develop a high-performing mechanical engineering team, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous learning aligned with Adani’s leadership principles.

Compliance and Safety Management: Ensure all mechanical operations comply with environmental, safety, and regulatory standards. Champion safety culture and lead initiatives to achieve zero-incident goals.

Vendor and Stakeholder Management: Manage relationships with vendors, contractors, and service providers to ensure quality supplies, timely delivery, and cost-effective services. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Electrical, Instrumentation, and Operations for seamless plant functioning.

Technical Advisory and Reporting: Provide technical guidance and support to senior management on mechanical issues. Prepare and present detailed reports on plant performance, maintenance activities, and project status for informed decision-making.

Continuous Improvement and Innovation: Drive adoption of best practices, new technologies, and energy-efficient solutions to enhance mechanical system performance and sustainability.

Budget and Cost Control: Develop and manage mechanical department budgets. Identify opportunities for cost optimization without compromising safety or quality.

Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks related to mechanical systems and processes, ensuring business continuity and operational resilience.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university; a Master’s degree or equivalent is preferred.
