Job Title: Senior Manager Quality and Systems

Summary

The Sr Manager of Quality and Systems is responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and maintenance of the Company’s Quality Management Systems.
This will be done through leading teams, developing quality strategies, conducting audits, ensuring sustainable quality performance from suppliers, driving cross-functional alignment on defect reduction, and driving continuous improvement initiatives across the organization. The Sr Manager of Quality and Systems ensures that products and processes comply with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and live up to the reputation our company has earned over the past 50-plus years.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the Quality Management System (QMS) to rigorously uphold quality standards by formulating, developing, and overseeing goals, objectives, policies, procedures, systems, and outcomes pertaining to quality controls, assessments, and audits.
  • Partner with the Production and Design Engineering teams to develop quality inspection and product release programs by institutionalizing best practices for inspecting and releasing raw materials, WIP, finished goods, and processes for all existing and new product lines.
  • Champion data-driven decisions in the implementation and integration of continuous improvement tools, and by scheduling and performing quality audits, providing feedback, and sharing report findings.
  • Develop internal and external customer loyalty and rapport by receiving and reviewing customer satisfaction surveys, resolving as needed, and liaising with global stakeholders and customers in the execution of timely corrective actions.
  • Manages workers engaged in inspection and testing activities to ensure continuous control over materials, facilities, and products.
  • Responsible for document and record control, management review of documented issues, and develops preventative action measures to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Responsible for the RMA process. Ensure customer relationships are continuously strengthened and reviews quality data that is gathered through the warranty to identify any quality trends.
  • Continuously improve quality processes and production efficiencies by managing the investigations and testing of new processes, methods, innovations, and techniques.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing to identify trends, close feedback loops, and prevent recurrence of non-conformances.
  • Lead management reviews and present systemic improvement plans.
  • Oversee corrective and preventive action, change management, and document control.
  • Manage the Quality team.
  • Designs and implements corporate quality assurance training programs to key personnel in conjunction with managers.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned.
  • Must love guns.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite.

  • Manages the day-to-day activities of the Quality team.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; and three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience with ISO and mil-spec standards.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups and/or board of directors.

REASONING ABILITY

  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
