Job Description

As our Senior Manager of Corporate Tax for MENA & APAC, you will sit at the intersection of technical excellence and strategic business partnership. This isn't just a compliance role; you will be the primary tax architect for some of our most complex and fastest-growing markets of Checkout.com

We are looking for a unique profile, someone who is "hands-on" enough to navigate the nuances of key MENA / APAC tax compliance and regional filings, but strategic enough to sit with senior stakeholders, locally and globally, to advise on the tax implications of our expansion, product launches, and the global impact of Pillar Two.

What you will do:

  • Act as a dedicated regional tax partner to MENA and APAC leadership, providing clear and actionable guidance on the tax consequences of commercial decisions and new market entries.

  • Collaborate closely with the Global Tax team in London to ensure regional strategies align with group goals, particularly regarding OECD Pillar Two and global cash tax management.

  • Lead high-impact strategic projects, such as restructuring for international expansion or assessing the tax impact of innovative fintech products, while translating complex legislation into clear risks and opportunities for senior executives.

  • Take full ownership of the direct tax lifecycle for our regional entities, including leading the transition and ongoing compliance for the new UAE Corporate Tax regime.

  • Design, implement, and maintain robust regional transfer pricing policies and manage the end-to-end tax reporting processes to ensure total accuracy in regional tax provisions.

  • Drive operational excellence by building automated systems to streamline the tax function and leading all relationships with regional tax authorities to manage audits with a proactive, technical approach.

Qualifications

  • Must have over 8 years of deep tax experience, ideally blending "Big 4" training with high-growth in-house experience within the Fintech or Financial Services sectors.

  • You should possess expert-level technical knowledge of International Tax principles and the UAE Corporate Tax regime; additional practical experience within APAC jurisdictions is a significant advantage.

  • A strategic communicator capable of distilling complex tax provisions into clear, actionable advice for non-tax stakeholders without sacrificing technical precision.

  • Maintains a hands-on, proactive mentality, with a willingness to dive into spreadsheets and legislative text to ensure high-quality delivery and maintain technical edge.

  • Ideally you hold a recognized professional tax qualification (ACA, ACCA, CTA, or equivalent) and demonstrate the ability to thrive in fast-paced, high-growth environments where commercial intuition is as vital as technical research.
