Senior Manager, Virtual & Digital Assets

Job Purpose:


As a Senior Manager, Virtual & Digital Assets you will be responsible for overseeing the development and management of our digital asset strategy including virtual assets products, digital currencies, non-fungible tokens (NFTs), in-game items, open banking and the broader digital assets landscape. The primary objective will be to drive the strategic direction, enhance the user experience, and optimize the profitability of our virtual assets portfolio. This position will play a pivotal role in the growth, strategic planning, execution and optimization of digital asset-related products, services, and initiatives within our organization. This role requires a deep understanding of emerging technologies, blockchain, cryptocurrencies, non-fungible tokens (NFTs) and a passion for driving innovation in the digital economy.


The Senior Manager, Virtual & Digital Assets will work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, design, marketing, and business development, to define the product strategy, roadmap, and execution plans for digital assets



Principal Accountabilities:



Product Strategy and Roadmap: Develop and execute a comprehensive product strategy and roadmap for digital assets, aligned with CBD's overall objectives. Identify market trends and customer needs to drive product innovation and differentiation.



Product Development: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, design, and marketing, to define product requirements and specifications. Oversee the end-to-end product development lifecycle, from concept to launch, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality digital assets products.



Digital Asset Portfolio Management: Oversee the management of the organization's digital assets, including cryptocurrencies, NFTs, and other virtual assets.



Monetization and Revenue Generation: Develop and implement effective monetization strategies for digital assets, maximizing revenue generation while maintaining a fair and sustainable ecosystem. Analyse market trends, pricing models, and competitor offerings to optimize pricing and monetization approaches. Analyse revenue performance, conduct pricing experiments, and implement strategies to increase digital asset sales and revenue generation.



Product Marketing: Develop go-to-market strategies for digital asset products and collaborate with marketing teams to drive product awareness, adoption, and usage. Create compelling product messaging, sales collateral, and educational materials to effectively communicate product value propositions to target audiences. Develop and execute promotional campaigns, cross-selling initiatives, and partnerships to drive virtual asset adoption and monetization.



Technology Assessment: Stay current with emerging technologies and assess their relevance to the organization's digital asset strategy.



Partnership Management: Identify and forge strategic partnerships with external stakeholders, such as blockchain platforms, game developers, and digital marketplaces. Collaborate with partners to enhance the virtual assets ecosystem, expand distribution channels, and explore new business opportunities.



Regulatory Compliance: Stay updated with relevant regulations and guidelines related to digital assets, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. Proactively assess potential risks and implement appropriate risk mitigation measures.



Operational risk: Develop and implement appropriate risk management processes and controls, delivery management and new product approval process ownership.



Data Analysis and Reporting: Utilize data analytics tools and techniques to gather insights and monitor the performance of digital assets products. Generate regular reports and dashboards to communicate key metrics, trends, and actionable recommendations to senior management and stakeholders on the performance and status of digital asset initiatives.



Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including executives, development teams, partners, and customers. Collaborate closely with these stakeholders to gather feedback, align on product priorities, and drive consensus.



Educational Initiatives: Develop educational programs to enhance the organization's understanding of digital and virtual assets.



Education and Experience:


Bachelor's degree in business, computer science, finance, or a related field. A master's degree is a plus.



Proven experience (7-10 years) in a similar leadership role, preferably in the fintech, blockchain, and global markets space.



Deep understanding of emerging technologies, blockchain, cryptocurrencies, non-fungible tokens (NFTs) and the wider digital economy.



Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and make data-driven decisions.



Excellent project management abilities, with a track record of successfully delivering products on time and within budget.



Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to articulate complex concepts clearly, also can collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external partners.



Knowledge of regulatory frameworks and compliance requirements related to virtual assets is highly desirable.
