Senior Manual Software Tester

Department: Test Factory

Location: New Cairo, Egypt

Purpose of the Role

As a Sr Quality Control Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring our software applications meet the highest quality standards and deliver exceptional user experiences. You will work closely with developers, product owners, and scrum masters in an Agile environment to test and validate new features, report defects, and contribute to continuous improvement.


YOUR NEW KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design, document, and execute manual test cases based on business and technical requirements.
  • Validate new features and user stories through functional, integration, and regression testing.
  • Identify, log, and track defects using defect management tools (e.g., Azure DevOps).
  • Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and provide guidance to business users during testing phases.
  • Collaborate with developers and product teams to ensure quality is embedded throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Contribute to updating and maintaining testing documentation and best practices.
  • Learn and support test automation initiatives (Playwright, TypeScript, or similar), assisting automation engineers where applicable.
  • Ensure test progress, risks, and issues are clearly reported.


ARE THESE YOUR SECRET INGREDIENTS?

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • +7 years of experience in software testing (manual testing required, automation knowledge is a plus).
  • Familiarity with software development and Agile methodologies.
  • SAP knowledge.
  • Basic understanding of defect management and test case management tools (e.g., Azure DevOps, JIRA).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work in a multicultural, collaborative environment.
  • Curiosity and willingness to learn automation testing tools and techniques.
  • Exposure to automation frameworks (Playwright, Selenium, or similar).
  • ISTQB Foundation Level Certification.
  • Awareness of FMCG commercial business processes.
  • Experience with Promo/Trade Promotion Management systems (e.g., SAP TPM, Accenture CG Cloud TPM, Xtel).
  • Team-oriented, proactive, and adaptable in a fast-paced Agile environment.
  • Strong ownership, accountability, and willingness to learn.
  • Collaborative mindset with good communication skills across technical and non-technical teams.
  • Continuous improvement and self-development mindset.
