Manufacturing Engineer
Description:
The Manufacturing Engineer plans, directs, and optimizes manufacturing processes within our aluminum fabrication facility. This role drives efficiency, quality, and safety through hands-on problem-solving, process improvement, and teamwork across departments. Starting pay is $90,000 - $95,000, based on experience and qualifications
Location in Warner Robins, GA
Key responsibilities:
- Conduct Safety Risk Observations to promote a safe and proactive work culture.
- Perform engineering audits to verify compliance with labor, quality, and safety standards; correct deviations as needed.
- Support CNC programming and operations, including program writing, testing, and troubleshooting.
- Lead and support Continuous Improvement initiatives and TPM pillar activities.
- Develop, evaluate, and enhance manufacturing methods for productivity and quality improvement.
- Analyze workflow, space utilization, and equipment layout to maximize efficiency.
- Collaborate with design and planning teams to ensure manufacturability and tooling readiness.
- Coordinate with vendors and suppliers for equipment, materials, and part specifications.
- Partner with Product Development to evaluate process capability and layout constraints.
- Communicate effectively across engineering, management, and production teams to meet schedules and goals.
- Apply statistical and analytical methods to forecast production needs and process improvements.
- Provide regular updates and reports on project status and key performance metrics.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering (required)
- 5+ years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment (required)
- Proficiency in AutoCAD
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies
- CNC programming experience (preferred)
- Experience with process mapping and time studies (a plus)
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and mathematical skills
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
- Excellent communication and presentation skills (Excel and PowerPoint proficiency required)
- Demonstrated ownership mindset, adaptability, and urgency in task execution
