About the Role:
As a Senior Marine Electrical Integration Engineer, you will serve as the technical authority for the configuration, design, and integration of complex hybrid engine room systems and controls. You will lead the development of custom and production solutions for Cat Marine, ensuring seamless electrical and mechanical synergy between vessel machinery and advanced power systems. This role bridges high-level engineering with commercial strategy, providing technical leadership to regional sales teams and global dealers to deliver fully integrated, high-performance propulsion packages.

What You Will Do:

System Architecture & Integration: Lead the selection, configuration, and evaluation of complex vessel machinery and power solutions. Integrate the complete Cat Marine scope of supply, including gensets, batteries, switchgear, motors, VFDs, and critical control interfaces.

Regulatory Compliance & Standards: Ensure all system designs meet stringent maritime safety and performance standards. You will be responsible for designs that meet the requirements from Marine Classification Societies such as ABS, DNV, and Lloyd's Register. Additionally, you will ensure full compliance with USCG requirements
- Strategic Business Analysis: Perform value-based benchmarking to evaluate technical solutions against ship operator business models. Analyze how specific configurations impact CAPEX and OPEX to provide the most cost-effective and efficient solution for the client.

Full-Lifecycle Engineering: Project manager over all engineering activities from concept to validation. Deliver high-precision technical documentation, including 3D models, integrated drawings, schematics, and technical specifications to facilitate seamless installation and operation.

Product Innovation: Drive market implementation of new equipment concepts by leveraging existing Caterpillar products, modified offerings, and strategic partner technologies.

Commercial Engineering Support: Determine the optimum technical concept for individual vessel projects. Partner directly with sales organizations and clients to support the sale and installation of full Caterpillar engine, propulsion, and system integration packages.
Technical Expertise:

Regulatory Knowledge: Deep understanding of USCG federal regulations, ABS Rules, and international DNV/Lloyd's standards for marine electrical and hybrid systems.

System Modeling: Proficiency in delivering high-fidelity 3D models and schematics for complex electrical and mechanical interfaces.

Marine Power Systems: Expert-level knowledge of the application and installation of diesel-electric and hybrid solutions, including marine-ruggedized hardware and battery management systems.

Product Development Life Cycle - MFG: Knowledge of the methodology and associated phases, activities and deliverables of product development life cycle in manufacturing organizations; ability to bring new or enhanced products to the marketplace.

Product Testing: Knowledge of product testing approaches, techniques and tools; ability to design, plan and execute testing strategies and tactics to ensure product quality at all stages of manufacturing.

Troubleshooting Technical Problems: Knowledge of troubleshooting approaches, tools and techniques; ability to anticipate, detect and resolve technical problems in a manufacturing or product development environment.
Summary Pay Range:
$147,760.00 - $221,640.00
Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
