Based at our headquarters in Hauppauge, NY, the Senior Materials Planner is responsible for the planning, procurement and control of finished goods, accessories, and parts inventory requirements. Utilizes appropriate tools including CRM and methods for developing and monitoring forecast data and historical data analysis to create MRP and purchasing requirements. Manages efforts to achieve inventory target levels, inventory optimization efforts and material flow to meet sales goals and service level requirements. Reports to the VP of Operations.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze CRM data and Sales history and prepare data for monthly forecast meetings working with Product Management.
  • Plans all purchased and make parts within responsibility area. Make decisions to release, firm, cancel, or defer work based upon current inventory, demand, and capacity. Responsible for maintaining appropriate inventory levels to support production plan.
  • Places and maintains purchase orders for raw materials within responsibility area.
  • Works directly with Product Managers in managing product portfolios including the support for new product launches and impact on existing products and Lines.
  • Planning all products and accessories in accordance with standard lead times supporting multiple warehouses.
  • Address material shortages, extended lead times, excess, and obsolete inventory.
  • Manage disposition of non-compliant material and targeted inventory levels.
  • Execute production plan by creating work orders, purchase requisitions and purchase orders to meet master schedule.
  • Facilitates problem resolutions with Accounts Payable related to purchase orders/ invoicing and pricing.
  • Facilitate and monitor receipt of purchase parts to our warehouse.
  • Reviews bill of material changes and updates ERP system with planner, lead times, order policy information to ensure proper planning of new parts into production.
  • Represents Production Planning and Analysis at various meetings and relays related information to production planning and analysis staff. Collects information, complies with standard formats, prepares monthly reports and other management reports as requires.
  • Works proactively with our sales team to convert the sales pipeline into product forecast.

Qualifications

  • Must be local to Hauppauge, NY
  • BA/BS in Business, Supply Chain, or Materials Management or related experience
  • Advanced experience with Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • 5 years’ experience in Planning, procurement supply chain and inventory control
  • Strong business experience with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Highly organized, maintains deadlines and experienced managing complex situations

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
