Senior Material Specialist - Nawah (NPP - Nuclear Power Plant)

Job Purpose
To handle the purchasing of nuclear and non nuclear related materials, equipment from initiation to post award administration for Nawah requirements to ensure that those requirements are met in a safe, compliant, timely, and efficient manner to support safe and reliable operation and maintenance of the Nuclear Power Plant (NPP).

Responsibilities and Accountabilities

  • Prepare, plan, schedule, and process the purchase of spare parts, tools, materials, and equipment in a timely and cost effective manner to ensure safe and reliable operation and maintenance of the NPP.
  • Support nuclear supplier qualification and maintain the qualified supplier list.
  • Understand specifications, scopes, and material masters, ensuring QA, H&S, engineering, and end user requirements are met.
  • Review technical specifications for purchasing materials and equipment.
  • Assist end users in creating purchase requests and selecting correct parameters in the system.
  • Prepare Scope of Work/Material masters and send RFIs to market for required information.
  • Arrange supplier meetings, site visits, and supplier user coordination as required.
  • Review purchase requests, monitor consumption rates, and identify strategic contract opportunities.
  • Interface with Engineering and QA to resolve safety, quality, and non conformance issues.
  • Assess quotes to ensure compliance with policies and budgets.
  • Evaluate and analyze competitive bids and proposals.
  • Assist vendors in raising bid exceptions, deviations, and clarifications.
  • Collaborate with QA, specification engineering, inventory management, warehouse, and logistics on material supply issues.
  • Prepare the commercial evaluation and negotiate terms with vendors.
  • Ensure vendor terms are agreed and agreed clauses are closed.
  • Prepare recommendation for award and final purchase order/outline agreement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or equivalent. Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA), Supply Chain Management, or Engineering preferred.

Experience

  • More than 5 to 7 years of procurement experience in the energy sector, specifically with nuclear power plant operations.
