Procurement Engineer (Civil)

Job Description:
We are looking for an experienced Procurement Officer specializing in Civil procurement to join our team in Abu Dhabi. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in procurement for construction projects, particularly in civil works, and be responsible for managing the sourcing, negotiation, and purchasing of materials and services. This role requires excellent market knowledge, negotiation skills, and an in-depth understanding of project needs.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement procurement strategies for civil materials and services to support project requirements.
• Source and evaluate suppliers, vendors, and subcontractors, ensuring they meet quality and compliance standards.
• Negotiate terms and contracts with suppliers to secure the best value and quality for materials and services.
• Prepare and manage purchase orders, track orders, and ensure timely delivery to meet project schedules.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and site teams to forecast procurement needs and align them with project timelines.
• Monitor and analyze market trends, supplier performance, and material costs to optimize procurement processes.
• Maintain accurate records of procurement activities, agreements, and supplier documentation.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, UAE regulations, and ethical procurement standards.
• Address any supply chain issues, delays, or quality concerns with suppliers to minimize project disruptions.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Business, Supply Chain, or a related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in procurement within the construction industry, focusing on civil projects in the UAE.
• Strong knowledge of civil construction materials, suppliers, and local market trends.
• Proven negotiation skills and experience managing supplier relationships.
• Proficiency in procurement and inventory management software.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
