Technical and repair duties
- Perform complex diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repair of mechanical and electrical systems on various vehicles, including gasoline, diesel, and alternative fuel models.
- Conduct routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and major tune-ups.
- Repair and replace a wide variety of components, such as engines, transmissions, brakes, steering, and suspension systems.
- Use diagnostic equipment, including computerized systems, to identify and resolve malfunctions.
- Handle custom fabrication and modification as needed.
Leadership and management duties
- Lead and mentor junior mechanics, apprentices, and other team members, providing guidance and training on technical skills and best practices.
- Oversee the scheduling and prioritization of maintenance activities.
- Ensure the quality of repairs and maintenance performed by the team.
- Collaborate with other departments to coordinate schedules and minimize equipment downtime.
- Contribute to a positive and productive team environment.
Administrative and safety duties
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of all repairs, parts used, and maintenance activities.
- Ensure compliance with all company safety, health, and environmental policies.
- Manage inventory and initiate purchase orders for necessary supplies.
- Participate in safety meetings and contribute to a strong safety culture.
- Keep up-to-date with the latest automotive technologies and training.
