What You'll Do

  • Design and develop mechanical systems for high-performance computing platforms and custom infrastructure hardware.
  • Create detailed CAD models, drawings, and documentation for assemblies, enclosures, fixtures, and mechanical subsystems.
  • Perform engineering analysis including thermal modeling, structural evaluation, and system-level design trade studies.
  • Prototype, test, and refine hardware designs through hands-on development and validation.
  • Translate engineering concepts into manufacturable solutions while balancing performance, reliability, and serviceability.
  • Collaborate with external manufacturers and suppliers to support fabrication, assembly, and production activities.
  • Develop tooling, fixtures, and test equipment to improve assembly, validation, and manufacturing processes.
  • Support prototype builds, troubleshooting efforts, and deployment activities.
  • Work cross-functionally with electrical, firmware, and infrastructure teams to integrate complete hardware solutions.
  • Maintain engineering documentation including drawings, specifications, assembly procedures, and test plans.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on manufacturability, scalability, and operational excellence.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
  • 3+ years of experience designing mechanical systems using CAD software such as SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or equivalent tools.
  • Experience with thermal management and electronics cooling solutions.
  • Proven ability to take designs from concept through prototype and production.
  • Hands-on experience with fabrication, prototyping, machining, 3D printing, or fixture development.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and design-for-manufacturability principles.
  • Experience performing engineering analyses such as thermal, structural, or CFD simulations.
  • Ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues and develop practical engineering solutions.
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and technical drawing skills.
  • Authorization to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship requirements.


Preferred

  • Experience designing hardware for high-performance computing, networking equipment, or electronics packaging.
  • Familiarity working with contract manufacturers and external fabrication partners.
  • Experience with fiber optics, dense electronic assemblies, or complex electromechanical systems.
  • Hands-on experience building servers, robotics systems, drones, or other advanced technical hardware.
  • Personal interest in computer hardware, system building, or related technical projects.
