Job Summary:


We are seeking a highly experienced and results-oriented Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic team in Saudi Arabia. The ideal candidate will possess over 10 years of extensive experience in the supervision of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems, with a particular specialization in HVAC Chilled Water Systems, Plumbing, and Fire Fighting. This pivotal role involves overseeing the execution, quality assurance, and compliance of mechanical installations on our large-scale, high-profile construction projects, ensuring delivery to the highest standards of ACC.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Site Supervision & Project Management:
  • Lead and manage the on-site supervision of all mechanical works, including HVAC (especially Chilled Water Systems), Plumbing, and Fire Fighting systems, from installation through to testing and commissioning.
  • Ensure all mechanical installations adhere strictly to design specifications, approved drawings, project schedules, and budget constraints.
  • Monitor contractor performance, quality of workmanship, and material compliance on a daily basis.
  • Prepare and submit detailed progress reports, daily logs, and site inspection records.
  • Technical Expertise & Quality Assurance:
  • Provide expert technical guidance and solutions for complex mechanical engineering challenges encountered on-site.
  • Conduct rigorous quality control checks and inspections to ensure adherence to relevant international codes (e.g., ASHRAE, SMACNA, NFPA, IPC) and Saudi Arabian standards.
  • Review and approve shop drawings, material submittals, and method statements for mechanical systems.
  • Witness and approve testing and commissioning activities, ensuring systems perform optimally and meet specified requirements.
  • Coordination & Collaboration:
  • Act as a primary liaison between ACC, subcontractors, consultants, and clients regarding all mechanical aspects of the project.
  • Proactively identify and resolve coordination issues between mechanical and other MEP/civil disciplines to prevent delays and rework.
  • Attend project meetings, provide technical input, and contribute to overall project planning and problem-solving.
  • Health, Safety & Environment (HSE):
  • Ensure strict compliance with ACC's robust Health, Safety, and Environmental policies and procedures on all mechanical work sites.
  • Promote a safety-first culture among all site personnel.


Qualifications and Skills:


  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university.
  • A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in MEP supervision within large-scale construction projects, with a proven track record in KSA or the GCC region.
  • Demonstrable expertise in HVAC Chilled Water Systems, including design principles, installation practices, and commissioning procedures.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in the supervision of Plumbing and Drainage systems, including water supply, sewerage, and stormwater.
  • Comprehensive understanding of Fire Fighting systems, including sprinkler systems, standpipes, fire pumps, and fire suppression systems.
  • Proficiency in reviewing and interpreting complex mechanical drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
  • Strong command of relevant international building codes and standards (e.g., NFPA, ASHRAE, IPC, UBC).
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage and motivate a diverse team.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to anticipating and mitigating potential issues.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Relevant professional certifications (e.g., PMP, LEED AP, specific system certifications) are highly advantageous.
