Senior Mechanical Engineer

Rawafid is seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team. In this role, you will lead the design, analysis, and implementation of advanced mechanical systems for various industrial and construction projects. You will oversee project execution, coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, and ensure compliance with technical standards and client requirements. Your expertise will contribute to delivering high-quality engineering solutions that meet project objectives on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare specifications and datasheets for rotating equipment including high-pressure pumps (>60 bar), booster pumps, dosing pumps, and energy recovery devices
• Review static equipment design including pressure vessels in accordance with ASME VIII and heat exchangers per TEMA standards
• Select appropriate materials for seawater and brine service, including super duplex stainless steel (SS 2507), 6Mo stainless steel, titanium, GRP, and rubber-lined carbon steel
• Perform mechanical calculations such as shaft alignment, vibration analysis, and bearing life assessments
• Develop equipment layouts and arrangement drawings ensuring compliance with project and space requirements
• Conduct technical evaluation of vendor bids and provide technical recommendations
• Review vendor drawings and technical documentation for compliance with project specifications
• Participate in 3D model reviews from a mechanical engineering perspective to ensure design integrity and constructability
• Support development of piping material classes in coordination with piping engineering teams
• Prepare spare parts lists for rotating and static equipment
• Participate in HAZOP studies with focus on mechanical systems and process safety considerations

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• 10 years of relevant experience in mechanical engineering roles, preferably within industrial or construction sectors
• 5 years of experience in desalination (SWRO, MSF, MED) or water treatment plant projects, including equipment specification for seawater service
• Must be registered and certified with the Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE)
• Professional Engineer (PE) certification is preferred
• Strong knowledge of API standards (API 610, API 660, API 661) with familiarity with SWA technical standards
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems design, materials, and manufacturing processes
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and leadership skills
• Effective communication and teamwork abilities
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines under pressure
