The PM Group is a San Antonio, Texas based agency with over $65,000,000 in annual billings. We're adding to our team and are looking for a Senior Media Buyer with 10-15 years of experience! This position will train in our San Antonio, Texas offices and can transition to being a ‘work from home’ position, based upon the demonstrated skills of the applicant.

The Senior Media Buyer is responsible for negotiating with advertising sales agents to acquire cost-efficient and budget-conscious advertising space, sponsorships, or product placements to meet client needs and wants, as well as research what media options are available in the markets afforded by a client’s budget.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Applies market research information, such as demographics, media usage, ratings, and the type of content in each vehicle to choose the best possible venue or medium for a client’s advertising campaign.
  • Maintain knowledge of assigned local media markets and serving as market expert within the agency.
  • Purchases advertising space in print, outdoor, broadcast, and online outlets, such as billboards, radio stations, television stations, cable, newspaper, magazines, and websites.
  • Utilizes buying software to optimize media plans.
  • Knowledge of media options, programming, trends, measurement, and standards of excellence.
  • Negotiating rates, while maintaining a fair and honest approach with media representatives.
  • Placing broadcast media buys.
  • Evaluating new media opportunities.
  • Managing day-to-day media buying process.
  • Proactively identifying and/or creating value added packages to improve client media plans and maximize impact.
  • Approving invoices, reconciling discrepancies, and posting media buys, as appropriate.
  • Assisting in on-going communication with clients, as needed.
  • Accountability for plan execution; ensuring plans deliver on relevant media objectives.
  • Assisting in managing all client budgets and media billing.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

DECISION MAKING * The Senior Media Buyer receives limited supervision.

  • Directly supervises assigned media coordinator staff.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS * Bachelor’s degree in Advertising, Marketing or related field.

  • At least ten to fifteen (10-15) years of experience as a media buyer or in a similar role.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Knowledge of STRATA software programming and other media buying/research tools like comScore and Nielsen.

  • Ability to work successfully with teams, handling multiple projects and meeting client deadlines under pressure.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to effectively utilize media research and reporting resources (Nielsen, comScore, Polk, etc.) and convey these results in a clear, consumable way.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and take initiative to meet goals and deadlines.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS

Subject to sitting for extended periods of time to perform job scope. Working conditions are in an office environment.
