The Senior Media Manager is responsible for planning, executing, and optimizing media campaigns across various channels to increase brand awareness, engagement, and conversions. This role involves managing relationships with media vendors, collaborating with internal teams, and ensuring media plans align with marketing strategies, with a significant focus on leveraging opportunities and navigating complexities within African markets. The Media Manager oversees both traditional and digital media, ensuring a cohesive and data-driven approach to media buying and planning.

  • Partner with the Media Director to develop integrated media strategies that align with brand objectives and target audience insights.
  • Lead the creation of multi-channel media plans, including digital, social, TV, radio, print, OOH, and programmatic advertising.
  • Identify opportunities for innovation in media approaches, leveraging new technologies and trends, particularly those emerging or gaining traction across Africa.
  • Serve as the primary media contact for key accounts, presenting strategies, and results.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Translate complex media data into clear, actionable insights for clients and senior leadership.
  • Oversee campaign implementation, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and budget adherence.
  • Monitor and analyze campaign performance, optimizing media spend for maximum ROI.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, brand guidelines, and legal requirements.
  • Manage media budgets, forecasts, and financial reporting.
  • Provide regular performance reports and strategic recommendations to clients and leadership.

Skills and Experience

  • 5+ years of media planning/buying and client management experience.
  • Proven experience and in-depth understanding of media planning, buying, and the unique consumer and regulatory landscapes across diverse African markets.
  • Proven track record in managing integrated media campaigns across multiple channels and client management experience, handling key stakeholders, presenting, and managing expectations.
  • Strong knowledge of media planning and buying across different platforms.
  • Co-ordinate strategic planning activities.
  • Remain up to date with global and African market trends and understand the market and customer demographics.
