Utilize and properly care for shop equipment and fabrication tools.

Determine appropriate production equipment or fabrication methods based on project requirements.

Operate machinery at production levels with little to no supervision.

Maintain equipment in a safe working condition to ensure productivity without compromising safety.

Work with a variety of metal alloys (including precious metals) according to their unique material properties.

Provide quality control, identify production issues, and recommend solutions to maintain workflow.
-
Test and inspect welded surfaces and structures to identify flaws or inconsistencies.
-
Ensure finished assemblies are free of weld or dimensional defects and meet required finish quality levels.
-
Collaborate with the team or independently solve fabrication challenges to meet project specifications and customer expectations.
Technical Qualifications
-
High school diploma or equivalent required.
-
Technical degree or certification in welding or fabrication preferred.
-
5+ years of experience in fine metal fabrication (architectural stainless steel, aluminum, etc.).

Experience working with architectural metals, including copper-based alloys, preferred.
-
Strong layout and fabrication planning skills.

Mastery of standard shop equipment including:

Cold saw
-
Bandsaw
-
Hydraulic shear
-
Drill press
-
Belt sander
-
Electrical and manual hand tools
-
Ability to operate or quickly learn additional equipment including:
-
Bridgeport mill
-
CNC press brake
-
Powered angle roller (80 ton)

Strong mechanical aptitude and analytical problem-solving ability.

Proficiency with TIG and MIG welding processes.
-
Familiarity with metal patination techniques is a plus.

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and welding symbols.

Ability to take and execute verbal instructions effectively.

High attention to detail in fabrication and finishing work.

Ability to set up fabrication components according to specifications.

Ability to collaborate effectively on complex multi-part assemblies.

This role operates within a medium industrial fabrication environment where noise levels may be high. Employees must:

Lift 50-75 lbs repeatedly

Stand and work for extended periods (up to 10 hours per day)

Walk, stoop, kneel, bend, reach overhead, and climb stairs or ladders

Safely operate CNC cutting equipment and fabrication machinery
Schedule:
Monday - Thursday5:00 AM - 3:30 PM(3-day weekends most weeks)
A skills test will be required to determine final placement within the pay range.
