• Organize Implementation and monitoring of the long and short term mine planning and mine designing process for open pit operations.
  
• Overview/ preparation for approval of the detailed schedules and layouts.
  
• Overview/ preparation for approval of the open pit production plans.
  
• Overview/preparation for approval of the mine engineering budgets.
  
• Mining studies management using in-house and third-party skills (consultants).
  
• Provide consultancy and expert advice on mining and mineral extraction projects.
  
• Establish production targets and monitor their achievement; ensure that monthly progress plans are completed in a timely manner and are available.
  
• Work alongside the Geological department to optimize grade control and minimize dilution through mine designs and mine plans.
  
• Ensure designs and applications are consistent with regulatory and company policies and procedures.
  
• Provide assistance and advice to the operating units ensuring maximum production, operational planning; ensure correct and up-to-date plans and information, and accurately measure key mining performance indicators.
  
• Ensure that a monthly digest of relevant KPIs, progress measurements and reports is available.
  
• Evaluate new and innovative products, techniques, and procedures.
