Senior Officer - Information Technology

The following announcement is for a position within the Kuwait National Space Research Center (KNSRC), a department within KFAS.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in IT administration or a similar role.
• Strong knowledge of computer hardware, operating systems, and networking fundamentals.
• Experience with Microsoft 365 administration and cloud services (preferably Azure).
• Proficient in English and Arabic.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Professional certifications such as Microsoft, Azure, CompTIA, Cisco, or equivalent.
• Experience working in research, academic, or technology-focused organizations.
• Familiarity with Linux systems and scripting is an advantage.

Key Accountabilities:

• Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot IT hardware.
• Manage LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi networks, firewalls, switches, and routers.
• Install, configure, and maintain operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux) and enterprise software applications.
• Manage user accounts, permissions, and access rights across systems and platforms.
• Support Microsoft 365 services (Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Entra ID/Azure AD).
• Perform system updates, patches, backups, and recovery operations.
• Administer and support cloud platforms (Microsoft Azure and/or other cloud services as required).
• Implement and maintain IT security best practices, including endpoint protection, access control, and data protection.
• Monitor systems for security threats, vulnerabilities, and incidents.
• Support compliance with institutional IT policies, data protection, and information security standards.

• Equivalency of the academic certificate(s) from the Ministry of Higher Education, and Authentication of the transcript(s) for graduates of universities other than Kuwait University.
