Senior Operations Head/Manager

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Operations Head /Manager - MEP to lead the Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) division within our civil contracting operations in the UAE. The ideal candidate will oversee the end-to-end operational execution of large-scale MEP works in building and infrastructure projects, ensuring timely delivery, cost efficiency, quality compliance, and safety standards. This senior role requires strong leadership in managing multidisciplinary teams, subcontractors, procurement, and stakeholder relationships while driving operational excellence and profitability.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of MEP operations across multiple projects, from tendering and mobilization to handover and defects liability period.
• Develop and implement operational strategies, production workflows, resource allocation plans, and project schedules to meet deadlines and budgets.
• Oversee procurement of MEP materials, equipment, and subcontract packages; negotiate contracts and ensure supply chain reliability and cost optimization.
• Manage subcontractor performance, including selection, coordination, monitoring, and compliance with contract terms.
• Enforce rigorous QA/QC, HSE, and regulatory compliance protocols in line with UAE authorities, ISO standards, and international best practices.
• Implement lean methodologies, value engineering, and cost control measures to maximize profitability and minimize risks.
• Collaborate closely with clients, consultants, main contractors, structural/civil teams, and internal departments to resolve technical issues and maintain stakeholder alignment.
• Monitor project performance through KPIs, real-time analytics, and reporting; provide actionable insights for continuous improvement.
• Mentor and develop MEP teams, foster a culture of professional growth, and build a strong leadership pipeline.
• Handle risk management, change orders, RFIs, and variations while ensuring adherence to FIDIC or similar contract conditions.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering or related field (Master’s/MBA preferred).
• 20–25+ years of progressive experience in MEP operations within civil contracting, electromechanical, or building construction companies in the UAE/GCC.
• Proven track record as Head of Operations, Operations Manager, MEP Manager, or Senior Project Manager in large-scale projects (AED 300M+).
• Strong expertise in MEP systems for high-rise buildings, infrastructure, or mixed-use developments.
• Proficiency in project management tools, MS Project/Primavera, and basic BIM/Revit knowledge is an advantage.
• Certifications such as PMP, FIDIC, or Certified Contract Administrator highly desirable.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Current or transferable UAE residency visa (Golden Visa holders preferred).
• Valid UAE driving license.
