Purpose of the Job
The Middle Mile Supervisor is responsible for managing and overseeing middle mile transportation operations between hubs, fulfillment centers, and distribution points. The role ensures timely, cost-efficient, and secure movement of shipments while maintaining service level agreements (SLAs), fleet utilization, and compliance with operational standards.
Job Description

Supervise daily middle mile transportation operations between sorting Center and distribution Teams.

Monitor linehaul schedules, departures, arrivals, and transit times to ensure SLA compliance.

Coordinate with last mile teams, fleet providers, and control tower to resolve delays or operational issues.

Manage fleet utilization, vehicle capacity planning, and route optimization.

Track shipment movement, scan compliance, and exception handling (delays, damages, shortages).

Ensure drivers’ adherence to safety regulations, company policies, and operating procedures.

Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly performance reports (on-time performance, cost, utilization).

Support peak planning, volume forecasting, and contingency plans.

Investigate incidents, delays, or losses and provide root cause analysis with corrective actions.

Assist in vendor management and performance evaluation of transport partners.
Job Requirements - Experience and Education

Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or related field.

3–5 years of experience in transportation, middle mile, linehaul, or logistics operations.

Strong knowledge of fleet operations, routing, and transportation planning.

Experience with TMS, WMS, or logistics tracking systems.

Ability to analyze data and prepare operational reports.

Supervise daily warehouse activities and staff shifts

Ensure accurate receiving, put-away, picking, and dispatch of inventory

Monitor inventory accuracy and conduct cycle counts

Enforce warehouse safety standards and operational SOPs

Coordinate with transportation and operations teams for timely dispatch

Track warehouse KPIs such as productivity, accuracy, and SLA performance

Train, evaluate, and discipline warehouse staff when required

Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency
