We are looking for an experienced Senior Operations Manager – O&M to lead and manage the operations, maintenance, and execution of Government Solar EPC projects. The candidate will be responsible for installation, commissioning, testing, charging, and long-term operational performance of solar power plants, ensuring timely delivery, compliance, and high operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end Operations & Maintenance activities for Solar EPC projects (Government sector).
- Oversee installation, erection, testing, commissioning, and grid charging of solar power plants.
- Ensure strict compliance with project specifications, MNRE / DISCOM / statutory norms, and safety standards.
- Coordinate with engineering, procurement, construction, QA/QC, and site teams for smooth project execution.
- Manage O&M strategies, preventive and breakdown maintenance schedules to ensure maximum plant availability.
- Liaise with Government authorities, DISCOMs, consultants, and clients for approvals, inspections, and handovers.
- Monitor plant performance, analyze generation losses, and implement performance optimization measures.
- Prepare and review daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports, performance reports, and MIS.
- Identify technical and operational risks and implement effective problem-solving and corrective actions.
- Lead, mentor, and manage site engineers, technicians, and O&M teams.
- Ensure adherence to EHS (Environment, Health & Safety) standards at all project sites.
- Support management in project planning, budgeting, and cost control.
Educational Qualifications
- M.Tech in Electrical Engineering (Mandatory)
- B.Tech in Electrical Engineering (preferred as base qualification)
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 8 years of experience in the Solar EPC industry.
- Proven experience in Government Solar EPC projects.
- Strong hands-on experience in:
- Solar plant installation
- Commissioning & testing
- Grid synchronization and plant charging
- Operations & Maintenance (O&M)
Key Skills & Competencies
- Excellent technical knowledge of Solar EPC project execution and O&M.
- Strong understanding of HT/LT systems, inverters, transformers, SCADA, and protection systems.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
- Excellent communication skills in Hindi and English (written & verbal).
- Ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders and work under tight timelines.
- Proficient in MS Office, project reporting, and MIS documentation.
Preferred Attributes
- Experience in large-scale MW solar projects.
- Familiarity with Government tender requirements and compliance processes.
- Willingness to travel and work at remote project locations.
